The field of health education and promotion in the master's degree has been formed with the aim of developing education and health promotion among the community and changing health-related behaviors. In addition, we set our goals to focus on education as the main pillar of various levels of prevention and promotion to elevate the level of public awareness in society, reduce the costs of disease and improve the level of health and quality of life of human communities.

Since October 2015, the master's degree program in health education has been launched in the Faculty of Health, Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences with the admission of 6 students, and now a total of 17 students (in four periods) are studying for a master's degree. So far, 18 people (during three periods) have been educated. In addition, in 2020, this group succeeded in launching its international branch as the first group in the country and the university in the Faculty of Health by attracting two international students from Iraq.

Department of Health Education and Promotion of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, with its faculty members and capable and experienced expert staff, provides the necessary conditions for excellence in health education and health promotion and intends to promote health and achieve the lofty goals of the country and the university.

Therefore, by developing education and using the latest scientific achievements and paying special attention to research, it plans and implements its rapid movement as the axis of university development. It is expected that this mission will be achieved by training capable, accountable, responsible and committed graduates, in accordance with national and international standards and in order to promote individual and social health to elevate quality of life and healthy lifestyle. It is expected that the group be able to witness the improvement of the competencies by training capable students, including (having the necessary capabilities to perform needs assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of health promotion programs to be able to coordinate and establish health communication. We hope that in the next five years, by attracting the best specialized forces and developing education and research, the university reference in the field of health education and health promotion will be located in the west of the country and act as a leader in terms of scientific and research products in the west.
